AN EXECUTIVE of a local firm that runs a chain of pharmacy was shot and wounded by motorcycle-riding gunmen in a village north of Zamboanga City, a top police official said Sunday.
Zamboanga City Police Director Edwin de Ocampo said the incident took place around 4:40 p.m. Saturday in the village of Pasonanca, north of the city.

De Ocampo identified the victim as Francis Estrella, the operations manager of Zamja Marketing that runs the Joan’s chain of pharmacies in the city.
Investigation showed the victim was driving his vehicle on his way home when shot by one of two men riding tandem in a motorcycle along Kilometer 4, Pasonanca village, de Ocampo said.
Responding policemen have recovered three spent shells of caliber .45 pistol from the crime scene, he said.
Estrella, though he was hit in the neck and shoulder, is in stable condition, de Ocampo said. (Bong Garcia)
