KUALA LUMPUR: it was a proud moment for Kamarruzaman Kassim when fellow members of the Harley Owners Group Malaysia Chapter formed a motorcycle convoy to escort him to his wedding reception at Pantai Hillpark in Bangsar, here, yesterday. Kamarruzaman, 39, and his bride Hazlinda Mohamed Shah, 36, rode on a Harley Davidson Trike Glide Ultra, followed by 60 bikers Harley-Davidson bikers. The entourage began their journey from Pantai Hillpark to the reception at the Lembah Pantai Community Centre. Along the way, many curious motorists honked to show their support, while family members threw bunga rampai into the air as the entourage arrived at the reception area. Kamarruzaman, a businessman, said he wanted his wedding reception to be different and meaningful. "My wife and I came up with this idea. "the concept was a Harley Davidson-themed wedding reception where black and orange decorations were used, including the tablecloth and the goodie bags." Kamarruzaman met Hazlinda at a carnival in 2005 after a go-kart outing with his friends where she was an umbrella girl. "it was love at first sight. when I saw her there, something tugged at my heartstrings, telling me that she’s the one." the couple decided to tied the knot after dating for six years. Hazlinda said she became attracted to him when he approached her at the carnival while holding a big umbrella. "he said the umbrella I was holding was too small and feared that I would get a sunburn. "from there, I knew he was the one for me."
